Is it significant that most complaints have come from non Yeti owners? Come on guys, lighten up, or are you feeling deprived?

The boot is too small and the 4x4 gear to heavy to lug around all day! :giggle:

Proving they are not all things to all men, as some would have us believe

I think the only person thinking the Yeti is the complete answer as the complete and most amazing car ever is the little voice in your head telling you this Brimma! :giggle: No Yeti owner has ever professed any different. To give you just one example:

The Yeti is good at very many things but not amazing at any.

Bryan, I could turn that around, in that the Octavia is TOO big for me.

And to be quite honest, having seen the confusion that has reigned this morning, and some of the usual biggoted responses from some of the non-Yeti crew, I may well not bother to continue here.

I don't know why 2 out of 3 cabbies here choose Octavias. I could search the Octavia section -conveniently advertised in a large banner at the top of every page!

But I think I'll let Brimma tell us.

you don't need to put Yeti in every threads title. Just post non Yeti stuff in the most suitable section elsewhere.

Putting Yeti in every title will simply make staff more likely to check it is related

Well, I guess that is a warning to us.

I haven't seen any Yeti taxis so far.......wonder why?

A couple of my drivers have them.

But they are seriously outnumbered by Octavias. :)

I am guessing that tyre questions relating to Yetis and their possible dual purpose abilities would remain int the Yeti forum? after all off road tyres are bugger all use on an Octy most of the time. So I would hope any general question about something which only really pertains to Yetis would be left alone, even if they were items that other models have their own derivative of. Say the Panoramic glass roof that the Yeti has, but the Octy doesn't (even though it does have a sunroof available) ??

nor me - from the very start there has been a distinct bias against Yeti owners - as evidenced by the Mod Stasi who banned me for a week last year because I dared to question the logic behind one of their member's decisions.

He commented in his response that the Yeti Forum was " being watched" by the mods as a whole.

Like you Graham - I'm outa here. They've f**ed id - and not for the benefit of their best forum.

A few weeks ago I did some statistical analysis of each of the forums available and the most responded to forum belonged to - The Yeti. Probably because the petrol heads have not got into it yet.

Funny tho, that every negative seems to be from a different model owner???????:

I picked up on that as well but was too annoyed to reply in a coherent manner so left it alone. Now I have calmed down and so can agree. If moderator want to move things that is up to them, even if I don't agree, but the negative tosh that has appeared today has all come from people driving cars that are not directly relevant to this section of the site. Maybe I'll go on a VW site tomorrow, they use the same diesel engine as mine, and give them a load of unwarranted stick. Then again maybe I have better things to do. This has been a bad day.

George, having been the brunt of some of the past attacks on here, I agree!

I think I'm off to look here:

Ever thought that is because that non Yeti owners have already grasped how to post in the relevant sub forum? something that 90% of Yeti owners have so far failed to do??

Part of the reason I frequent the Yeti forum despite not owning one is due to the fact I own a Skoda 4x4. A lot of Yeti threads are 4x4 specific so of great interest to me.

To say they are of 'bugger all use to Octy owners' is simply short sighted.

There are two versions of four wheel drive Octavia, the 4x4 and Scout. There is also a 4x4 Superb.

Just glad i'm part of the 10%.

I don't see why people are gettng out their prams. Its not rocket science, post things related to the yeti in the yeti section. other topic, just put in the relevent area.

Just because people who don't own yetis are commenting on this what's the problem?

Hate to think what would happen if something actually serious was to come up. Mountain and mole hill comes to mind.

Oh I forgot to say, I found the ordinary octavia felt a bit soft suspension wise (although I did have a Octy vrs which would sway things a bit). I found the yeti feels a bit more planted.

I spend most of my time in the Yeti and Octavia forums. I own an Octavia but feel I have been able to contribute to many Yeti threads over the years. If I am reading some of the comments above correctly then by being an Octavia owner perhaps I should stop reading and posting in the Yeti forum.

Just because I don't own a Yeti doesn't mean I'd like to own one, it doesn't mean I aren't interested in all things Yeti related and it doesn't mean that one day should my need for a bigger boot reduce then I won't aspire to own a Yeti.

The changes being discussed here aren't that much of an issue surely? Any non-Yeti related threads simply needed to be posted elsewhere.

I remember one very interesting and lively debate about personalised number plates a few weeks ago. Rightly so this was moved to General as it wasn't specific to the Yeti.

The friendly atmosphere that the Yeti forum is known for can continue. Let's face it the vast majority of threads in the Yeti forum are Yeti related and will therefore remain unaffected...

Oh and by the way, I've driven a Yeti and was very impressed.

I actually found it very similar in the way it drove to my Octavia Scout

I thought it was closed 'cos I said naughty things?

No just moved and the 'controversial' post in question was removed!

Hehehe. If you set your settings to receive email updates when someone replies to a thread you're posting in you will get notified of replies no matter where the thread has moved to. So I mostly don't even realise when a thread was moved as I just click from the email and reply.

No Silver1011. Please don't do that! We all value your and anyone's input no matter what you drive. I also post and chat in all the forums and long may it continue!

what on earth has been going on? I really don't see the issue either. When I log in I click on the link to show new posts. Then I scan the topics and open any that look interesting. If I'm short of time then I just browse the yeti topics. Simple really.

I don't really understand what all the fuss has been about.

This is what IMO really matters, I have driven a 140CR Yeti (it was the only car to try a 140CR engine the dealer had) but by choice I don't own one or wish to as they are not what I require from a car, I have also coded several Yeti's (5 IIRC) with my VCDS so I have and will continue to offer advice where I can (this goes for all models BTW).

NOBODY is better than anyone else on here (except spammers :giggle: ) If you own a Yeti / Superb / Octavia etc people generally are not jealous of you - they bought the car THEY wanted /needed, some people need to get a grip and realise this!! There is no reason why we can't all follow the same rules and get on together.
