Car mats

Featured Replies

I got a set of custom fitted red carmats....but maybe I should've waited till next summer. Any steps you guys take to reduce mud and stains and help clean less often? Scotchguard? A cheap transparent mat on top? Summer/winter mats?

I'm careful with my shoes...but cant say the same about passengers...

All purpose cleaner and a jet wash works wonders on them.

jet wash on carpet mats?

Yep, obviously not whilst they are still in the car though!

I do it a few times of the year and i have a set of rubber mats for the winter in both cars which get the same treatment.

TYVM!

I popped mine in the washer rolled up and secured with an elastic band - come out mint they do and smelling of fabric softner

If it's worthwhile for you, I bought some of the Skoda rubber mats (£29) for winter. Excellent fit, raised lip to prevent water run-off, easy peasy to Clean. Purchased precisely as I don't want the faff of cleaning carpet over winter

Just a thought...

Ditto, 29 quid well spent

Excellent thought...guess I should've put the money towards that instead of red carpet ones. Was that from a dealer?

Yep, from the dealer. Thought it was a reasonable price given guaranteed good fit (never quite know when ordering of eBay), and given the fit and finish when I picked them up, I'd echo the above. Money very well spent given the protection they offer and hassle they'll save over the next few months!

yep, main dealer here too, his exact words were "so after some discount, the price to you is £29.70" so if they quote you something higher, haggle. Seems at least two dealers are doing them for £29

Obviously mine weren't furby ones but I imagine Skoda charge much the same price regardless of model TBH

Think the Fabia ones were £29 in the accessories brochure (online PDF for Mk1 but I assumed they were the same fit/part# for the my Mk2)

I'm going to get a set this week for the car too, sick of shampooing the mats despite applying Gtechniq i1 to the carpets.

Vindis want £36 for them.

I phoned a Skoda dealer yesterday, they quoted £33 for a set of rubber mats, but would give me a 15% discount taking them down to £28.08. They are expecting them in tomorrow so I'll pick them up then.

£30 odd quick for rubber winter matts? Are you mental? Whats wrong a set of £10 ones from tesco (normally oversized so they can cover more area) and when the winter is over you can spend it on a better set of matt's for your car.

Erm they fit, have fixing studs and are a lot more durable. Oh and they look a million times better.

+2 More than happy with mine. So much so, I don't think I'm gonna bother with carpet mats come summer time. These don't look out of place at all

I've seen your ten quid mats...and I'll raise you my eight quid Argos specials!!

Off to collect my £7.99 mats hahahahaha

Skoda mat prices are insane...my 2month old, 45quid mats have a massive heal indent, lucky if i get a year out of them!!

Take them back and get them replaced then, I always take mine back and get them replaced when they start looking worn, they are guaranteed for 3 years I believe if bought with a new car or 2 years if bought as a stand alone item, oh and always get them to replace the complete set as the colour can slightly vary between batches.

Car mats -try B & M - Great selection ,all about £9

Rubber all the way for me -have the matching bootliner as well, perfect fit, with raised edges, great when coming back from a muddy dog walk.

The fabric mats that Skoda sells are another story they look really thin and stiff -a sure bet to curl up an fowl the pedals in my opinion -I'm sure there are much better quality ones available third party.

They are fine - no curl at all and amazingly hard wearing tbh.
