vRS headlamp adjustment

Featured Replies

I can do the adjustment on the dip beam with no problem. Done by the white hex screw nearest the indicator section of the headlamp.

Both are adjusted correctly.

However, the high beam has been totally screwed by a 'mechanic' who obviously didn't have a clue so the offside high beam is now pointing to the floor just in front of the car.

I was assuming that the height could be adjusted by the other white plastic hex screw, which is behind the high beam section of the headlamp unit, but no matter which way I turn it makes no difference to the high beam.

So can someone enlighten me please?

does the high beam actually have its own adjustment?

Is that hex screw actually the adjuster for the high beam?

Is the bulb itself sitting in straight? I noticed the same with my offside main beam last week and found the bulb was in at an angle and needed re-sitting.

I'm pretty sure that the hi beam can't be adjusted independantly to the dipped...

The headlight only has two adjustement screws - one for up/down, the other for left/right. And that means you adjust the entire headlamp.

If your hi beam is pointing to the floor, my guess is that the bulb isn't sitting in the headlamp correctly.

I would suggest you remove and refit the hi beam bulb. It is surely to be incorrectly seated!

That's what my money would be on as well ...

Well the bulb is seated correctly. I have checked it today and it is seated exactly the same as the nearside one.

So what does the 2nd plastic hex adjusting screw actually do? ( the one behind the high beam part of the lamp)
