Coolant light in a morning?

Featured Replies

Hi,

9/10 mornings I start the car and about 10 seconds later I get 3 beeps and a flashing red temp/coolant light.

If I turn the engine off and back on its then fine the rest of the day.

Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks

Header tank, check to see if there is any oil in it.

You can clean the prongs but for the sake of £10 might as well fit a new tank.

Is that the transparent sphere one where you fill the coolant?

If you're not handy or confident enough to fit a replacement header tank (I'm not) I just had mine replaced at cost of £35 all in at my local dealer and it seems to have solved my problem, which was exactly the same as yours. Warning came on most mornings and went off if you restarted the car. Now it seems to be fixed.

Just giving an alternative to the diy method :-)

I found this guide very handy when I changed mine.
