Will check the manual later, but the CD Units is built into the dash and all 6 Discs can be MP3 on CDR's, as that is what I have 84 Albums on 6 Discs

That's great!!!

Thanks a lot for this great information!

It's true this?:

- FF/REW seek within a track (not for MP3)

Can't seek on mp3 track??? what a shame!!!

- phone interface for automatic mute, loudspeaker output (and subwoofer too?)

- Auxiliary audio inputs (great!!!)

- External Amplifier (great!)

The power of the amplifier isn't the best, but is greater than other audio car devices, that's ok for me.

Thanks for all!!!

best regards!

old thread I know but picking up my 2007 scout tomorrow and just wanted to know how you got 84 albums on 6 discs?

Can you tell me if these stereos have phone hands free built in please?

Can some one get back to me please on how to get 80 odd albums on 6 discs please? does it play them as a file type or can you use dvd discs?

Thanks

@sealover1 - It's explained in the post you quoted: 'MP3 on CDR'.

They've ripped 84 CD's to MP3's on their PC using one of the many free apps.  They've then burnt the MP3's back on to CD-R's but as the files as much smaller, they can fit more on a single CD, in this case about 14 albums per CD.

The downside is, whatever you put the CD in needs to support playing MP3's as it's no longer a normal audio CD.

As for hands free, that'll depend if there is a bluetooth module fitted.

Yea I understood that bit with the CD R its how they load the albums if you convert them using say using windows media player it does not place/burn them in a folder on the CD disc, how would you know which album is which, or can you make sure there in mp3 file type and just burn the folder or named album onto a CD-R till its full.

When you use WMP or any other program to rip CD's, it'll put all the tracks into a folder somewhere on your computer. They should have a sensible layout such as artist\album\trackname.

Put a black CD-R in your machine, go find the tracks and add them to the CD. If it asks, you want to make a data CD rather than an audio CD :)

got ya thanks, all my music is on my laptop so i,ll just check there mp3's and burn data folders on there.

while your about lol

whats the AUX input in the arm of the armrest is that another way of playing music? SD,USB?

Edited by sealover1

AUX in is to take audio from a headphone jack.

You can use a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable from a phone, MP3 player or similar. It doesn't give any control so play/pause/track skip would all have to be done on the device you've connected.
