What are the must have vRS accessories?

Where'd you get that bad boy from?

From the Bay..er I inserted some encapsulated coloured card behind the vRS and didn't use his fasteners, as i prefered the look of domed hex bolts :)

Here's something cool I picked up off eBay, for security purposes... Cost less than a fiver, hopefully will help prevent theft!

Although the whole point of a tracker is that the thief does not know it is there...

When I had a tracker before, the company told me on activation, not to advertise the fact it was present.

Theifs will of course know this aswell... Or am i missing the point?

Tracker has two purposes in my view

1. It is a deterrent, therefore needs to be advertised, however they can then presumably do something about it.

2. It is a means of better ensuring you get the car back after the toe rags have thrashed it.

There are arguments for and against both, just depends what you want really. The professional thief is unlikely to be put off either by the chance of a tracker or a cheapo sticker.

That's your opinion, and an opinion telling me that I am ****ing my money up the wall is both off topic and completely unnecessary.

But referring to your argument, actually I would think it would stop someone stealing my car. Most professional car thieves would steal the car and then park it up for a few days to see if it is retrieved thus if a tracker is fitted. Either way, they would then miss out on their prize of having the car or money for the car because it gets recovered.

If this prevents someone doing this because they have the doubt in their mind that it has a tracker then it is completely worth the money.

My take is that if someone wants to steal your car then they are going to get it no matter what you do, whether it is by a brick through the window, break in for the keys or tow it away. Anything you do is just a deterrent rather than a preventative.

Throughout the forum it is clear that different people want and like different things, which is great as otherwise it would all be very boring. If you want to use a sticker, use it, if not then don't, but lets not get into a slanging match otherwise the mods will shut this down.

To get back on to topic, I do like the foot rest plate, especially what nockmeister did with the colours, looks really good.

I've been really sad and ordered a keyring. Having to hold back from anything else at the moment as all that is happening is getting bits whcih further remnd me that I don't have the car yet.

Once I do get it I will be looking to remove all the dealer stickers, they have always annoyed me. I hate paying for the priveledge of advertising for them.

There just doesent seem to be a great deal of stuff out there at the moment or perhaps im looking in all the wrong places  Ah well at least it saves me money so i can spend it on detailing gear instead :D

Depends what stuff your looking at.I for one cant stand body work mods etc. i like to keep a car on std parts. I prefer to go for stealth performance gains, and theres loads of stuff available for that

things like exhaust decent filter i want more noise as its far two quiet compared to the passed two cars me and my mrs have owned you know of any decent places that dont charge the earth for parts like this?

I would probably go for a Forge CAI-kit for you, bolt on for you on the island!

Exhaust would I probably look for milltek or something like that, people usually have a problem with paying for quality-products.

The milltek is relatively cheap for what it does and sounds pretty good on other cars.

I would go for a exhaust-system with 2 mufflers tho, sure it's nice with extra sound but you don't want too much sound ;).

Mine sounds much much nicer than stock. Im running the Forge intake and decat downpipe, which makes a big difference, but its not intrusive or booming/droning in anyway, whihc you do get from doing cat back exhausts.

I have both the above for sale as well, although im sort of having second thoughts about the intake change.

I'd add tyres and brakes to the list too for when that comes around!

I am starting to really find the limits of the brakes now. more initial bite and high load power are needed for me to feel more confident I think.

Pads will be getting changed once we see off the winter months.

Changed to Octavia vRS mk1 brakes in the first month, miles better even with "stock" pads and discs!
