Coolant leak

Featured Replies

Hi guys, my 05VRS is leaking coolant, there is a stain on the road about in the centre of the car at the front bumper. Will be taking it to a garage next week. Expensive repair?

Sounds like the common rad fault so could result in having to replace it. (bit pricey)

Couple of used ones on eBay at the moment for under £150 if your after saving a few quid.

Cheers Hux will give it a look.

Could be a hose leaking or poor hose connection, and not the radiator.

Don't be too hasty buying anything yet, until you really know where it's leaking.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

This imho. And as someone has said above about a radiator, a word of warning as i got a new one from my local motorfactor for £85 and yes it was brand new.

I had leakage from mine. It was right at the front of the car slightly to the left, rad had corroded through. Whole lot was about £250 iirc from a VAG specialist

Good luck

I suspect mine is leaking, but no one can fathom out from where, and that icluded my master tech mate.

No water showing up anywhere, but the level drops below the minimum mark with the resulting BONG every couple of months.

It's not the cylinder head gasket btw, so it all remains a mystery.

look for staining under the expansion tank and fuel filter after a hard run
