Hi, I recently purchased a Fabia mk 1 and it has one or two minor problems which I'm trying to fix. This one has me stumped...

I believe the glovebox closes with two catches, one on the left and one on the right. It is the left catch that is stuck closed.

I will need to replace the glovebox as the right hand catch also appears broken but of course i must remove the glovebox to replace it.

Does anyone know if there is a way to release the left hand catch? A photo of an open glovebox would be appreciated if someone could take one; I cannot find a photo anywhere on the internet or on previous threads on here relating to this. It may mean I can work out where to poke something in order to open it.

If your replacing the box mate just force it open using a large flat head and a rag for protecting your dash.

If you open the passenger door there is a piece of plasic covering on the side of the dash you can remove. You should then be able to get a screwdriver inside and push the left hand catch in and release the lid.
