just been re-mapped

Featured Replies

hi guys my fabia vrs 1.9tdi has just been re-mapped to 183bhp and 286 ftlb of torque butttt when i take my foot off the accelerator and put it back on its a little jumpy any ideas on how to solve this will the pd 160 intake help? and if i put this on after will it make any difference to my map???

cheers guys

Is it Just a stage 1 remap and where did it get remapped from?

Is try speaking to the tuners first off and see what they say...

The figures sound very high for a stage one map- figures aren't everything the drivability should be the thing to focus on...

If you mean jerky rather than jumpy then take

a look at the engine mounts and the dogbone mount.

It could be movement of the engine/gearbox.

its almost like a switch (power on then power off lol) could it be because of the power or could it be because the intake may need to be made bigger???? and it was a custom map from celtic tuneing they seemed to know what they were talking about and they definitely took their time over it and ran it through a few times until he was happy he was as close to the torque figures that i wanted

Intake won't make a blind bit of difference to smoothness so you

can at least rule that out. At best it will reduce smoke a little

that's all.

It could just be the extra shove caused by the higher torque

particularly if you aren't used to it yet, you do need to

drive a remapped car a little more progressively if you want

your clutch and running gear to last.

Wide open throttle from low revs is not a good idea particularly

in higher gears.

yea it was me being a "NEWBIE" once i started to take it a little more staedy it is fine im actually pleased with there work if im honest, thanks for your help buddy, and yea iv been told by lots including the guys who mapped it that i shouldnt boot it below 2500rpm and even at three till four its rapid. now one more question as you seem to have a bit more of a clue about cars than me lol would it now ruin/make any difference to my remap if i was to put lets say the pd 160 intake on it or a KandN pannel in the standard air box???? would be much appreciated if i get the answer to this question lol its killing me lol

thanks again buddy

The PD160 intake makes such a little difference with just a remap it won't be worth it buying it new. If you can find one second hand for £50, it's probably worth it though, as you can always get your money back on it.

The standard paper filter is good for 230+bhp, and a few people on here lately have had ruined turbos from aftermarket filters letting crap through and chipping the blades....

Also with aftermarket air filters, you have to oil them. Over oiling them = knackered MAF.
