Deep boom/rumble - turbo?

Featured Replies

Dont get me wrong, I agree best practice is to avoid that rev range. When remapped then totally avoid it.

However as standard there is no reason that DMF should not be able to withstand any amount of low rev action.

In this case the DMF is brand new, puitting my foot down at low revs a couple of times to test and see if the issue is resolved is in no way shape or form a problem.

We can rule out low revs broke the flywheel in a one off foot down.

And thats the point, this is something else not related to how the car is driven.

We're not saying it's already completely knackered a new flywheel. We're saying it's very likely just the normal noise of the DMF shaking away, whilst slowly being destroyed by trying to do what you're doing B)

But hey, maybe we're wrong. Maybe it's a completely different noise to that... from what's been described and the answers that you have got thus far, it apparently doesn't sound like it is anything other than the DMF though.

The last I will say on this thread is that my own car makes a fairly quiet rumbling noise if I boot it from low revs in a gear higher than 2nd, so I don't do it and don't worry about it (for the record: uprated clutch, but I went for a new DMF, as I didn't want to put up with SMF chatter).

Good luck!
