Maxidot Instructions

Featured Replies

Hi people,

I know this has probably been asked and answered many times but I have looked and searched but can't find the answer, only many references to what the Maxidot can do, but how exactly do I get into it and what functions is it actually able to alter.

If some kind person who is in the know would be good enough to either point me in right direction or post or even send me an email with the answers then I would be gratefull.

Thanking you. :(

First - are you sure you have it? If you do then when you open a door there is a full sized graphic on the screen showing which door(s) is open.

On the right hand stalk the rocker switch on the end scrolls through the functions of the currently selected option.

Push and hold this rocker switch to get into the maxidot menu, then scroll up and down with the rocker switch.

A short push on the button under the stalk is the "select"

Functions avaialble vary with equipment fitted and active but there is MFD (=trip/fuel computer), audio, sat-nav and set-up. May also be something to do with the phone in there too if you have bluetooth.

Yes I definately have it as mine looks like the top one and also I ordered it on the car when I had it from new.

Thank you for the info, I can now go and have a play.

Strangely enough there are instructions in the owners handbook...... :o

Must point out that handbooks are only supplied as OE for first owner women drivers

True but the manuals are not Skoda's strong point are they? They have definitely lost something in the translation from Czech. In particualr the instructions for the maxidot at no time refer to it as "maxidot" but as MFD or multi-funsction display. I just did a search of the PDF version of the manual and the word "maxidot" does not appear at all! As a result it is totally unclear whether they are referring to the standard computer or the maxidot. Add to that the "where fitted" asterisks and all in all it becomes pretty difficult to find your way around this particular part of the manual.

NB the pictures above of maxidot and standard are from the pre Facelift model. Maxidot is similar post FL but the standard looks at first glance just like the maxidot - it too comprises white characters on a black background.

Hello, I just purchased a 2011 TSi Octavia VRS and was doing the usual VCDS tweaks turn off selective locking etc with the laptop....

However I couldn't get the settings to stay.  After a lot of thinking I worked out the Maxidot options overruled what I did with VCDS! Tweaked the options through Maxidot and now it works fine opening all doors with one press of the fob.

why cant I have the speed in the centre like I did on my previous car? and also why does the the maxidot show the speed in KPH as there dosnt seem to be a setting to change it

KPH is because of EU regulation, it must be able to show your speed in KPH and there aren't any KPH markings on the speedometer dial.

If you find a local member with VCDS, they can probably enable the 'large MPH display' which sounds like what you want.

I have VCDS but cannot seem to find a setting for the large Speedo setting

Post a full autoscan and we can go from there :)

Its achieved by putting the car into Australia via VCDS.

Not sure, I've never done it, but seen plenty of posts on here mentioning it.

Fist post in this thread explains it:
