Finally, a Sky cold calling offer worth listening to

Featured Replies

I've been with Sky for a good number of years now, and am currently on a Sky+ package

I've looked at all the offers in the newspapers for Sky+ HD for new customers, only to find that existing customers had to pay for installation, and take on multiroom for 12 months, and pay the £10.25 additional per month for HD :( No thank you

Anyway, today I get an unexpected call from Sky offering me a free HD box, free installation (which you do yourself apparently), no requirement to have multiroom, and half price monthly payments for 8 months of a minimum 12 month contract

i.e. the only additional cost is £5.12 per month for 8 months, then £10.25 for the next months - at the end of the 12 months I can either revert to normal Sky+, or stick with the HD

My answer, of course, was yes please

It's about time Sky offered this kind of service to long-suffering customers

phone sky and tell them you want to cancel. they upgraded me to HD completely free of charge (no charge for equipment, delivery OR monthly HD fee) and threw in a whole heap more channels at no extra cost. emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Nice one - I'd not really considered HD for a while, so it was just a nice surprise to have the offer I got TBH - looking forward to it, as I've heard very good reports of how good the picture quality is

I was sceptical before watching full HD, but having seen it with my own eyes, it really is as good as everyone says.

Meh

HD is so 2008 ........lol

Or use the £180 quidco cashback for upgraders like I did. ;)

Can't find anything like that :(

Seems like it's now ended. It's the only reason I went to HD!

I've had HD since January after I upgraded our TV from 32" to a 42" Panasonic Plasma.

The Mrs was skeptical, but even she can tell the difference now and is always picking the HD versions of channels over SD.

You'll be glad.

I tried this with Sky and was told roughly "You have to give one months notice so your last payment will be ................"

They where not bothered so I'm now with Virgin and I'm saving around £30 per month

You must be one of the 0.0043423% of people you can actually get a Virgin service then!

Are you sure it's not the extra inches that have overcome her skepticism :giggle:

It's not size that's important, it's the quality of the image B)

I'm sure Mrs Brimma will collaborate that
