mk1 vrs heated rear screen stopped working

Featured Replies

hi all my rear heated screen has stopped working the button on the dash dont even light up cant see any fuses gone any ideas

I would imagine (not 100% sure without checking the wiring diagram), that the switch in the dash probably operates a relay. If you are not even getting the indicator light coming on (I assume the green backlight still works), then it may simply be that the switch has failed rather than a blown fuse.

I am still thinking switch failure, if you have no failed fuses.

Omg what are you gonna do to keep your hands warm when you're pushing it?

That is what heated rear windows are for on skodas after all :giggle:

ha ha the old skoda joke :D

Best get the other ones in quickly....

- What do you called a Skoda with a sunroof.... a skip

- What do you a call a Skoda with twin exhaust pipes.... a wheelbarrow

Gotta jump on the bandwagon..

How do you double the value of a Skoda? Fill it with petrol.

etc etc

I would check the switch first, then try the relay for it. I take it the wires either side of the back window are still intact ?

Check to see if the switch itself actually houses the relay - SEAT Leon ones do, I've not checked the Skoda one. If so then the switch is favourite, but check the obvious first, ie. fuses :)

Yay, I was right :-)

Good to know you got it fixed. It might be worth taking the switch apart and seeing what failed in it.
