Braking news!

Featured Replies

Did my mates mpi on the weekend....clutch bleed nipple requires a 9mm slim open ended spanner and it is on the left side below the battery (under the air intake pipe for the air box) and just behind the gear selector mech...bit of a faf to get get to...almost disconnected the cables to make access better!!....but the problem was worse as I had 8mm and 10mm spanners...no 9mm so had to use a small adjustable...which took up room!!!! AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

Excellent. That's legendary thanks, also checked my spanner collection and 9mm seems few and far between.

For anyone else doing this on the MPI, remvoing the air intake nozzle thingy means you can actually see it straight in front of you. All you have to do is undo the hose clamp holding the hot air feed to it, and the screw on top holding it to the air box - then pull the relevant bits apart - easy as that. Also worth checking while you've done this that the temp controlled flap inside works. Give it a bit of a wash in warm water, when you hold it up to the light you should see the flap has moved away allowing air to go from the front to the rear. When putting in cold water it should take a bit of time to close again given the temperature range it is designed to work at.

I also had similar after changing my brakes and pads.

Changed the fluid and made a massive difference!

Have a experience brake fade once since though after some spirited down hill driving but they are just basic discs and pads not uprated ones or anything.

Another vote for the easy blead kit fron Gunson. Makes bleeding brakes sooo easy!
