excessive Brake dust

Featured Replies

Hi, im getting really fed up of spending ages cleaning the rims of my wifes 07 limited edition fabia VRS. If she drove dailly for miles id expect loads of dust but she doesnt the cars done 23k and its an 07. So my question is what pads can i fit that will reduce the dust.

I have only used Mintex pads with my vRS and the dust really is shocking!

The car is still on OEM pads so was wondering what people use as a replacement. My audi TT has unipart pads on and i can go 2 weeks easily without washing the rims and even then theyre not as black.

i use pagid fast road and the brake dust is shocking

My 07 fabia vrs is the same, although I do brake hard sometimes.............

Must be the OEM pads

On previous cars I used EBC Green Stuffs, which massively reduced the brake dust problem.

There is a bit of a mixed feeling toward EBC's on this forum though, personally I've never had an issue with them.

I was going to say the same. EBC claim to produce much less dust than other pads. I've got Green stuff all round and have no problems stopping.

I used Pagid discs on my 1.4 16v and they seem OK, but then I rarely actually use the brakes more than a short tap.

I believe that Skoda use Pagid discs as their ODM supplier, so you might want to avoid them if they're causing you a headache!

TMD Friction (The company which produces Pagid and Textar) have just released a new Textar range, called EPAD - This is a range of low dust brake pads.

The range is currently only 32 parts covering popular VAG, BMW and Mercs - Have a look here: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/220695-textar-e-pad-brake-pads/ for some more information, and have a look online to see if we list them for your car. www.eurocarparts.com/car-brakes
