Engine drone

Featured Replies

Hello there first post so ,sorry in advance for any etiquette mistakes

Basically I have owned a 2006 fabia 1.4 tdi from new it has full service history all pucka. Had the cam belt changed last year all on time with idlers, bearings, rollers and water pump. Fitted by a trusted mechanic whose now working for the AA. Since that however it's making a droning noise between 1500rpm-2500rpm regardless of speed or gears.

Thought i'd post on here as a first point of call before taking her down to skodas.

Really appreciate any help thank you guys

Matt

Welcome!

Oh go on then I'll push you back up to the top.

Over tightened belts can cause droning noises, well at least Ford seriously overtightened a cam belt on one of these nasty CVH engines and had me getting them to sort it out sharpish before it killed the water pump!
