seems aint anyone here has a dsg box

Not sure if a SMF can be fitted, but if it can Do it

At work the price is not normally that different to replace the dual mass with another dual mass. I guess the benefit comes when you do very high miles and think you many have to replace it a second time. For example in taxis when they would hope next time they have to only buy new clutch. There is a school of thought that thinks the dual mass is there for a reason and to take it out may cost you more damage in the end.

I have now done 185,000

changed the DMF at 40,000, then changed just the clutch and plate and release bearing at 172,000 due to the clutch master cylinder packing in.

cost £230 fitted

skippy ur talking abt manual? i have a dsg

The 6 speed DSG in the Octavia uses a wet clutch system and this works in conjunction with the DMF, fitting an SMF if it were possible (its not currently as none are produced for the DSG box) would lead to a very jerky ride and poor gear changes as the system is designed to work with a DMF.

thank you manyo  dmf all the way

dmf all the way

You don't have a choice I'm afraid, the link in post number 5 confirms that a SMF is not currently available for DSG equipped cars.
