Sidelight warning light?

Featured Replies

Just a quick one really.

Does the octavia have a sidelight warning light on the dash? Mine has dip, main, frnt and rear fog warnign lights, but no sidelight light.

Nope mine doesn't have one m8

Nope, mine doesn't either. But turning on the sidelights should cause your dials to illuminate...

Ah cool, glad it's not supposed to have one!

And yes, the dials and controls etc all light up.

Mine didn't have one, however, have you managed to turn your light switch on but only get the dash lights yet.....? There is a way and it's like a pointless task in a video game....

Yep done it :D

Found it by mistake whilst waiting for the missus to come out from the shop.

How do you do that?

I can't tell you, you need to get bored and start fiddling, I did it when the wife went shopping and I was stuck in the car with 2 sleeping kids.

Aww please tell, usually when i'm bored and start fiddling i end up breaking something

Just fiddle with the light switch (and nothing else - otherwise you might get arrested :o ). Mr Haynes mentions how to do it, but for other reasons - hopefully that does not give too much away!

If you push the switch in and turn it to the right a bit, the dash illumination will come on, but the sidelights won't. Feels like you're going to break the switch though.

Which is how you remove the switch from the dash....
