Adjsting the wiper sweep?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've got an annoying feature with the wipers on my 58 plate Superb II. The drivers side one always 'hits' the edge of the screen when in the far end of the wiper sweep resulting in a thud each time. Is there any way to mechanically or electronically adjust this so it does not go quite so far.

An extremely annoying feature I'm only just starting to discover...

you could move the wiper arm but i wouldnt recommend this..

sounds like the wrong size wiper blade is fitted!

still have warranty if its the original wiper?

The only way you can do this is to turn the wiper arm on the spindle.

Flip open the cover on the end that the arm turns around, loosen but do not remove the nut beneath that cover. Twist the arm to "break" the taper spline joint. Loosen the nut a bit more, and turn the arm one spline towards the base of the windscreen. Re-tighten the nut but don't "gorilla" it; the taper spline is to hold the arm in place.

If under warranty, off to dealer for them to see and to have them resolve the problem ASP.
