morning chaps , ryt , 1st off cheers damin for sortin me out with some weitec coilovers

whats the best height for handling with the standard 17inch spiders ,no other hadling mods as of yet , next on the list is RARB and then polybush the full car and that would probs be it unless i find a sare 1k and buy a diff

pics would be nice aswell

cheers peps

When AMD did mine they recommended the middle height setting to start with, which i've kept ever since. The only time i was close to changing this was in the winter in 2010 when the snow was here and thought about getting a bit more clearance.

Personally I have had lots of hight changes mate, and I would recommend keeping it close to std. I now have std ish rear and maybe 10-20mm lower on the front and the ride is really nice and handling is spot on. I do have other trick bits on mine tho lol.

here are a few pics for you.

STD with R32 reps 225 40 18

After fitting the Weitec's with Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2 but std arms and hubs.

This was a really nice looking setup but very harsh and bumpy and the handling was not really that good neither.

After that I raised her up a few mm and this was a great improvement but still harsh.

Now I have raised her up to about std rear and maybe 10-15mm lower on the front and the TT/R32 front setup.

Thats a very ice octy u got there mate :)

Tend to agree with Billy's comments on keeping the car height useable if you want std type suspension feel.

Although prefer mine lower(a lot lower) this will make the suspension a bit crashy. My front weitecs have only 15mm of thread left. The rears have approx 5mm of thread over the top black pearches.

With my set up and other handling mods this low is fine for me.

So depends on what you are after i would say halfway down to start with so you get a idea.

This is what mine looks like.

I used to have mine very close to standard I think it was something like a 15-20mm drop. Felt very good but then it had replaced 120k old standard suspension so no comparison!

thanks lads , billys looks best with the pro race wheels on nice stance the lot , silver 1 looks very aswell , what have yous don to the front bumpers

Ive got my ride height prety much the same as Chicken eyebrow

The front of mine has milotec grills in and a seat leon cupra r splitter screwed on it in the pics with the td pro race rims on.

i dont have the milotec grills ne more as some scank from newport stole one off the bumper.

Thanks for the kind words too.

Another reason i raised mine was to get out of where i live i have to drive at an angle to join the road and also there are 4 speed humps and i didnt fancy having the splitter ripped off.

Billy

My left and right grills are also milotec and i have modded the center part of the bumper and re meshed it to allow better air to the FMIC.

Mine looks exactly like banzaiman's.

I set the rear spring platforms to max height, while still maintaining full thread overlap. Then adjusted the front end to sit a little lower. I took it into a perfectly flat workshop and set all the corner heights up perfectly, like the freak that I am.

Like banzaiman, I also removed all 4 mud flaps. Due to the fact that they make the car look crap and increase drag. Oh and because mudflaps are for sucka's.

Was just wondering what sort of height you are running.

From floor to the top of the wheel arch.

Cheers
