Colour/identity mark's on oe springs

Featured Replies

Morning all, ive had coilovers for the last year or so and have decided to go back to oe suspension, the car was already on eibach springs when i got it, so i sold them and got hold of a set of 'oe' springs from ebay , i never tried/checked them and just chucked them in the garage, but now ive noticed they have paint marks on them that manufacters use to identify the different springs, so my question is does anybody know the correct colour marks that a 55reg vrs should have, ie to make sure they really are for a vrs, before i start stripping the old gear off only to find theyre incorrect,

cheers Mark

No ideas anyone? emoticon-0101-sadsmile.gif

I think mine has red, I'll check tomorrow for you and let you know!

I don't think that the markings are necessarily to tell between different springs, more like discrim marks for quality checks etc. but I might be wrong...

Have you tried contacting whoever you got them from?

Got em about year or so ago mate from ebay i know they were 'described' or 'sold' as Vrs springs at the time, just being double sure thats all, im in the trade like and colour marks on many manufactures do refer to the 'type' of spring but im not sure on the skoda stuff tbh emoticon-0148-yes.gif

You are spot on, the colour markings on all VAG road springs indicate their "axle weight range" and comfort/sport/heavy duty use.

Hi M8

Just checked my 55 Fabia Vrs front springs 3x red dots & 1x orange

Rear 2x White1x blue 1x orange

Hope this helps

Regards whoosh

I think mine are different to them so ill see if I can have a look tonight.
