I'm guessing it could be as a result of the temperature, but would prefer to know for sure.

When I get in the car there is an audible bong that keeps repeating until you put the key in the ignition.

mine does this every nower and then - there's no warnings on the dash - It's never because of a reason - and i've got no idea why it does it.

You've left your blinker stalk either up or down and it's telling you that the parking light on the respective side is on.
