Hi! My friends 1998 octavia has this really annoying problem with the interior dome light! When you shut the door its supposed the go off( after a while), but it wont! When you then turn the ignition on it goes out for a sec but comes straight back on. Sometimes it does work as it should but then while driving it can suddenly come back on which is very annoying when it is as dark out as now!

I would agree with cdm1.

If you unlock the car open a door and close it again, it does the car lock about 30 seconds later (because it failed to detect the door was opened).

When the car is locked, does the alarm light flash?

Do the puddle lights on the front doors work?

Having the same problem, update if you manage to fix it.
