Hi there, my name is Mike and i've just recently bought my first skoda, an octavia 1.9 tdi, 51 plate hatchback. its a great car which seams to be very well put together. i've had some small issues with it and discovered this website which was very helpful so decided to join up. i have a new issue which cropped up this morning which i am looking for some help on. after starting it up the coolant level light came on so i turned it off again to investigate. i topped the bottle up to max level and headed off on my trip. on return the level had dropped again but not enough to alarm up. i waited a while before loosening the cap again to refill but after releasing the pressure the level rose again to max, however when you start it up again the level starts to go back down again, it never used to do this and it's as if it's pressurising too much. the engine has done 105000 miles with recent new belt & pump and temperature stays at 90 on gauge when warm. has anyone else experianced this and is the engine in the early stages of something more subsantial going wrong ? any ideas ? Mike.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hello Mike and welcome along

Hi and welcome.

I've only just got my vrs, so not placed to offer any advice yet - sorry.

I am however well-versed in crossing my fingers and hoping my probs just magically go away - which is why i've just had to hurridly splash out on a new motor 'cos my last one bit the dust in big style  so, yeah best check out the threads as mentioned above.

Good luck.
