New owner with some questions

Featured Replies

Hi there, I tried to post this in the ask a tech section, but it wouldn't let me start a thread.

I have some questions about my new (to me) 2001 skoda octavia.

1) where is the fuse box? I've looked hi and low and cannot find it!

2) there is a loud farty noise coming from the right hand side of the car (as you stand and face the car). If I look down the side of the battery I can see a pipe vibrating violently which seems to be causing the noise. Any ideas on how to stop this?

3) my interior and boot lights aren't working, but I am sure this is a fuse issue which I could fix if only I could find the fuse box.

4) the central locking doesn't work, it soundsmlikemit is working but it doesnt. Annoyingly, it opens all the doors but doesn't lock them.

Any and all advice appreciated

Open Drivers door & remove the side trim on the Dashboard

Cable tie it to something to stop it vibrating

Could be the control unit located in the drivers door, easily sourced from a scrapyard

See this thread for details on how to remove the door card etc, I replaced the entire unit in the door as I didn't want to faff with taking the unit apart.

Fixing the Drivers door Microswitch

Any and all advice appreciated
