Skoda touch up paint + lacquer

Featured Replies

I got this OEM touch up paint from skoda especially for my color.

Its in two bottles a lacquer and paint.

Does anyone know what is the right way to apply it and how many coats do I need... to make a good OEM like finish.

ANy help on this would be great.

Thanks

A cocktail stick..NOT the brush

A tiny ammount gradually filling the chip..Two hours apart..depending on the size of it

Thanks for the reply !!

Correct me if I'm wrong

1) Apply lacquer wait for it to dry

2) Apply paint wait for it to dry

3) repeat process if necessary

DITCH the laquer..You really dont need it

If you use a Hair dryer..You can reapply quicker too

Sorry but you are wrong,

1/ primer (if the chip is down to bear metal - not supplied in your kit)

2/ paint

3/ lacquer

To just touch up maybe, but for an OE finish the paint is purely there for the colour, the lacquer will give the depth of shine and fill the chip better - if flatted back and polished later then it will be more difficult to spot than a chip that has no lacquer applied.

The above only applied to metallic paint (solid paint is generally not lacquered anyway)

NO

Only the paint is chipped off.. I can see the primer..

So I apply the paint ... wait for it to dry off and then apply the lacquer ??????

Also do I need to repeat the process ? ( Doesn't seem like it, but it's better to ask )

IF the chip is still below the level of the rest of the lacquer then you can keep on building it up until it is flush, normally though this can be done with one coat of lacquer.

Whatever you do it is pointless putting any paint on top of lacquer.
