Rear drivers door leak

iv done some reserch on the net about this problem and is well known to fabias i have a mk1 octavia vrs and when it been raining and i open my rear drivers side door i get a mini waterfall lol iv had the pannel off the was no membraine so iv put some on witch i got from skoda but the problem still remains i have damp under drivers seat. has any one worked out how to fix this promblem. or had same problem thanks

Mine seems to suffer from a damp drives seatbelt....

Other options would be water leaking in from the bulkhead - via the bonnet release cable / loom. It might be worth lifting up the scuttle panel and ensuring the drainage routes down the back of the plastic wheel arch liners are clear/free of compost....

The floorpan is on a slight slope towards the rear of the car. I had a flood in my rear passenger footwell caused by water coming in next to the pollen filter, but yet the front passenger carpet felt dry. I think there is more carpet / sound deadening material at the front too.

For water that gets past the window seal, there is a small (about 5mm) drain hole in the door, located towards the back of the bottom part of the door and just below the rubber strip.

I am guessing that if this gets blocked then the door will partially fill with water and be sloshed out past other gaps when you open the door.

Thanks for your reply i will check that out tomorrow i will get to bottom of this problem lol
