turbo intake pipe

Featured Replies

I'm looking to fit a turbo intake pipe to my vrs,I know they don't make much difference, but I'm looking to tidy up the engine bay,I'm not willing to spend the money on a forge or samco one,has anyone fitted one off eBay with success?also noticed volkbits sell them, anyone had any experience with them? Thanks.

All same of the same. The samco ones have the best build but go cheap. Will do the same job. Loads of people run the eBay ones. I will be going for the cheap ones next year. Anything is better then the horrid rubber one that's in there now.

As long as you get the 4 ply silicon pipe(4 layers) then most of the pipes are the same. Very cheap ones may need triming down a bit. I bought a Autobahn88 one from hong kong that is top quality from ebay that needed triming.

also these are a good buy

also heard good news about this company too. You could probably email them for different colors.

I put an Autobahn88 TIP on my old mk4 golf Anniversary, & it was fine. Did need a bit of trimming though.

Weird cuts looks like someone's been at it with a Stanley blade.

Been thinking of one of these myself for a while, are they worth it? Do you get any gains?

From reading on here there doesn't seem to be much gains to be had,I'm just doing it and the turbo hoses to make the engine bay a bit nicer.

You do get a slight increase in turbo spool up because the pipe is wider than the std ally small pipe that fit's to the turbo. Plus the std black hose that fits to the alloy pipe and to the MAF can get weak and collapse under turbo boost, certainly with age. The shape of these silicon pipes allows slightly better airflow.
