As per topic really, building some rack space this week for brisky kit.

I was going to use an old x700 firebox, but it's dead, or on it's way, one to many power cycles.

Waiting on a admin to approve my membership of pfsense forums, anyone here know what I'm talking about?

nope but google knew a little :p

google does indeed help, as does the thick book i have :)

always nice to know somebody who knows more ;)

I'm aware of it, but have never needed to use it in anger, not needing a dedicated firewall device. Built test boxes though and it looks fairly simple to use...

My datcentre manager uses pfsense for my work stuff, never had a problem with it. He runs it as a VMWare ESX VM and it has been spot on so far. What do you need to know?

I use stonegate hardware firewalls these days. The amount of stuff these things do these days is stunning too, which is handy when you've got many other things to worry about.

If you want a price, then drop me a PM as I should be able to put you in touch with a chap who can get you a very good price on them.
