vrs door card cleaning

Featured Replies

hi all

I've got a 51 plate vas and the white door cards aren't quite white anymore, they wasn't perfect when i got the car. what cleaner is best to get them looking new again?

thanks

chris

If this is the grey / white cloth centre sections between the black leather on the vRS motors then you will need to invest in a wet vac to get them looking new again, you could spot clean them with some Tesco's Daisy APC if you liked but wet vaccing is the best way, do you have access to a wet vac....... :|

what do wet vacs do? i get that they are hoovers with water but how would that clean them?

before you shell out on a wet vac try some autogylm interior shampoo. it might surprise you how clean they come up, if not you've only spent £6.50 and you should find it in halfords

Quite simply you spray a specific cleaning agent onto the area and then extract as per a vac the dirt and cleaning agent out of the fabric, works wonders and you will be suprised what they can pull out of fabric ;)

And that would work on the alcantara on the seats too ? Or is that what you're referring to Simon ?

Anything that is an APC such as Daisy from Tesco's or Megs APC for example, the best one I have used and use at the moment is AS Brisk.......

When using steam, do you just use that alone or use product as well?

Just that alone mate and plenty of clean cloths, you will be amazed what cleaning power heat / steam has........

I agree with the autoglym interior shampoo, use a nail brush to give it a light scrub, you'll be amazed how good it is

Sorry to go off topic, was just wondering Baker if the steam cleaner works okay on the interior carpet and seat covers as well as the door cards. Was considering a wet/dry vac but they're quite expensive, whereas I've seen steam cleaners gor about 50 and can think of a few uses for one around the house too. Cheers

you lot will never believe me when i tell you i cleaned mine with baby wipes. come up a treat and there spotless.
