Dog guard & boot mat

Featured Replies

Anyone got a price & part numbers for a dog guard & rubber boot mat for my mk2 elegance estate?

You can find details of Octavia accessories via the link below. The Dog Restraint/Luggage Partition (DMM620001) is £109. Unlike the Octavia I Estate version, if you fit the dog restraint then the luggage cover needs removing since the former is incompatible with the latter. I wasn't best pleased at finding that out after purchase because I wanted to leave the restraint permanently fitted for when carrying heavy items in the boot. Part numbers and prices for boot mats depend on which one you opt for. I have the (heavy duty) rubber boot liner DCD620001 which is £53.

I have this one too and rate it very highly. There are other non-Skoda ones available for a lot less but despite what others say they simply aren't as good quality.

Not strictly true - you can use the luggage cover with the dog guard in place, it's just the part nearest the seats doesn't sit perfectly flat (it sits up slightly where it rests against the dog guard).

What do you mean by luggage cover? I've got the false floor, and if that's what you're talking about i've got both fitted in my estate with no problems.

The luggage cover I am talking about is the removing foldable luggage compartment cover fitted behind the top of the rear seats of the Combi.

I just remove the "umbrella" tray thingy and can still use the retractable luggage cover with the dog guard fitted.

Having read JulieD's comments which gave me some hope, I have refitted the dog guard and, using a bit of force, managed to get the panel at the front of the retractable luggage cover to almost lie flat - and that with the umbrella tray fitted. I have marked where that panel fouls the vertical struts of the dog restraint and will try cutting a couple of small slots slightly wider than the struts so that it can clear them. With luck that will enable it to lie flush with the tray and also allow access to the umbrella tray. I will post photos if the mod is successful.

All I have to do now is find my fretsaw....

my dog guard is from skoda ....fits like a glove £107 inc vat

I got a full boot liner from hatchbag www.hatchbag.co.uk the price varies as you can have sill protectors, and ones what drop down or some that ccover the head rest and different bottoms as well, mine is for a greatdane and cleans very well and also fits like a glove.

Another vote here for the Skoda dog guard - high quality, perfect fit.

As others have noted, the umbrella tray thing only just fits with the dog guard in place, but it does just about fit. The retractable screen cover fits and works perfectly as one would expect. The only small criticism might be that it's not an instant fit/remove as it clamps on to the U lugs on the boot floor, but I leave mine in all the time so that doesn't bother me (but I've seen it mentioned by others)

Im looking at getting the one for my fabia, my dad has a universal one for his vectra and it rattles like crazy at times and drives me mad. Any noise from this?

Great, have ordered it today and i ordered the boot protector thing too, think its rubber not too sure.

Ive not got a great dane but i have three jack russells and they get everywhere. in my old corsa they used to be on and off the parcel shelf, constantly trying to get on my knee, climbing over my shoulder between the head rest and the window they are murder!

They arent too happy being in the boot of the fabia and are constantly jumping over, shouldnt take too long to get them settled

I've had the Skoda dog guard and boot liner fitted for 4 years with no problems the dog guard does not rattle and I havn't had to remove anything, the luggage cover and the luggage compartment are still in place. I've 2 Jack Russells and this certainly keeps them in place! Regards Monkster.
