Yesterday I fitted my Sony Xplod headunit to my fabia vRS, it all plugged in fine with the VW adaption cable. But the headunit had constant power to it and my keyfob stopped working.. I talked to a friend of mine and he suggested that I might need a CAN-BUS adapter cable as he does with his audi A4. I put the standard head unit back in and it all worked fine again, can anyone shed some light on what I need?

Look at my post on the cables etc........the permanate and switched 12v supplies sometimes need to be switched around on the adabtor loom that comes with the head unit and you need to make sure that nothing is connected to the OEM Skoda diagnostics pin on the loom as well

Try re-syncing the key fob.....put key in ignition turn on (but not the engine), then turn off and remove the key, then lock the doors with the key in the door then remove the key and press the lock button on ther keyfob..this should resync the remote of the fob with the car!..

Tried the key fob resync and it didn't work, although if I take the headunit out it is ok, and the same if I put the standard one back in. I also tried swapping the two power wires which didn't work either..

There must be something wrong somewere in the unit or the wiring loom. I would check that the Sony wiring loom "goes" across and matches all the correct pins on the cars wiring loom????

Fixed! Just got another conversion cable and now it works do you no how big the fabia tweeters are?

Not exactly....they are in the doors covering the wing mirror mounts on the front and are the same size as the rear tweeters next to the door handles (these ones are easier to remove to look at!...
