Replacement Trim for Driver's door

Featured Replies

I have a habit of resting my elbow on the top of the driver's door trim near the door release button and I have now cracked the covering plastic and made a smallish depression in the underlying (polystyrene?) material.

A repairer said it couldn't be patched because of the damage to the polystyrene and the only answer would be to replace the trim at a cost of about £300 plus fitting.

Bearing in mind the car was purchased new in December 2005 and has a 55 plate, spending that kind of money on such a smallish issue seems disproportionate.

I would be very grateful for any practical suggestions for solving this at a more reasonable cost.

The Octavia is the L&K model in black.

My Vrs is the same.the trim has Bubbled and the foam underneath has a dent in it.

New door card required.

I'm thinking of injecting mine with resin, shaping it to my elbow and letting it set hard.

Common problem, had a few A5 octavia's and they go all the time.

My mate had one that looked like a dog chewed it.

My new 58 plate dosent get to see my elbow. Keeping this one mint

Have got the same thing on my 55 plate, unless I came across a mint 2nd hand replacement panel I wouldntworry too much about it...
