shoe and boot marks trap

Featured Replies

Hello friends I have noticed that the lower inner part of the passenger side door outside the bottle holder is marked by footwear, happening during passengers getting in or out of the Yeti.

Maybe im a bit too fussy, but i tell whoever enters or gets out to watch their shoes rubbing against the door......ha ha ha.

Does anyone have an idea how to get rid of these marks? Shoe polish is a stubborn mark indeed.

Go on,check if it happened in your Yeti too....lol.

Just one more reason why I will never have a car with a light coloured interior. You do not really notice these black marks on black trim. Furthermore you also do not notice the gaps between panels since the black shadow looks just like the black panels on my dash - whereas on a light coloured interior all the panel gaps scream their blackness at you!

How to remove it? Elbow-grease I presume works best! :giggle:

Happens to mine as well. One thing I tried on seeing another thread was to try peanut butter in very small amount. I does help remove marks. But try on a small area first, of course.

I have been looking into how to remove polish/wax residue from the black plastic trim and bumpers and several people have suggested autoglym fastglass, as i have some already i shall be giving it a try later on. Similar suggestions regarding peanut butter as well, but my car cleaning has me a reputation already!

It's because people don't open the door enough before they get out IMO.

Easily removed with a bit of interior/trim/rubber cleaner.

I use Armour All as I've had the squirty bottle for about five years and still works fine.

Don't use a cloth, but use a course sponge square and put the armour all on the sponge rather than on the panel.

Happy rubbing ;)
