Fabia Leaking Rear Doorseals, Please Help New Member

Featured Replies

On My Recently Bought 2000 W Reg 1.4 16v Comfort, Both Rear Door Panels Are Soaking Up Moisture From Rubber Seals At The Bottom Of The Door Opening. (when Its Raining). This Has Now Spread About A Third Of The Way Up Door Trim, And Looks Bad. Also Creating A Musty Smell In Interior. Any Advice On How To Sort Very Welcome. Thanks.

Sounds like it wants re-sealing. I've had both doors done on my furbie.I think tansparent bathroom sealer is used. Mine was done under warranty, common problem I think. I belive the inner door panals and aluminium inserts have to be removed, sealed and put back...Hope this helps, Cheers Andy

Its not actually the door seals that leak. Water gets in between the door and the metal ancilleries carrier. Its needs to be removed and re sealed.

I had this on my first Fabia, 1.4 16v comfort, 2001 model, it was only on one rear door and the door seal, at the bottom had become creased, so they just re seated it and it was fine, at the time they did order a new seal (was under warranty) but did not have to use it. But thats all it was, but yea the bottom of the dorr in side gets wet, noticed after washing. Touch wood, did not have it on my 2004 1.9TDi comfort, and as of yet no sign of it on the 05 vRS :) hope you get it sorted :)

The carrier is the sheet of metal as shown here...

Its held on by 10mm bolts around its egde. It usually requires removing, cleaning off the old foam seal and then resealing with windscreen sealer.
