daverapid's Super Estelle 120LE

Featured Replies

:) 1983 Super Estelle 120LE.

I bought this in December 2009 with about 13,000 miles, it's now done about 17,000 miles. I didn't really need any more cars but this was about to be banger raced so I saved it from that fate. It's completely original and unrestored and still boasts Skoda's original paint runs! The Goodyear Grand Prix S tyres are original. It's far from fast with a 1174cc 49 BHP engine and 4 speed gearbox but it drives like a new Estelle would have done in 1983 and has charm in abundance. Rear mounted engine and swing axled rear suspension means that fun can be had at low speeds!

No, but be warned they are infectious, you'll end up with several before you know it! :giggle:

Fond memories of learning to drive in my Dads, really easy to drive in, hated the BSM metro, with that stupid leyland logo( like trying to work out a union jack is the right way round), and a steering wheel you could not tell which way up it was , and no power steering so so many turns lock to lock, you had to count how many times you had turned it , otherwise you very slowly drifted into the kerb after reversing round a corner :giggle:

Tbh I think your just being greedy and out to let me have it. Only seems fair.

Fantastic, takes me back to driving my dads in the 80's. Seem to remember gear selection was interesting!

Well worth saving. More inclusions like this please.

Nice rescue Dave and looks in lovely nick. Hope it stays on the road for a long time. I never owned an Estell but my best mate at school had one of these and it was a load of fum :)

 I managed to overtake 3 pedestrians and a cyclist in this car earlier so that's comfirmed it, I'm not scrapping it just yet.

OMG

Back in the day when they were the butt of all jokes at school. I came home to find out my mum had bought one.

Always ducked down, so people I knew wouldn't see me. lol

Does look a tidy example and has been well cared for

Super job saving this one

My mate had a white one and I remember changing the clutch for him, so easy for a DIY mechanic!

Always makes me think of John Haugland thrashing around Dalby & Wykeham forests. Happy days

Ahh memories of my first car UVU 527X a 120LE pre FL (to use todays terminology!) It was bright orange and had the single round headlights and the narrow rear light clusters.

Skoda Forum I know, but that is dreadful. In a nice way. Good on you!
