So is the offer too steep ?

What does your plates say ?

Was it worth the price ?

Yes.

G2EG * (* replaces my surname initial - and my first name is Greg)

it cost a grand but ive had it for 11 years and it doesnt matter what car I have. My mrs had P55NTO on a Punto - but we let it go with the car.

Plates specific to the car should never be too expensive (unless you intend to keep buying VRS's) LOL!!

Well I do plan to get another's vrs , but I was a Honda tech before my Octavia so I have changed before and could do again lol

check DVLA - usually cheaper than indie dealers if you can find the plate you want

Mine would be a lot better if I could legally show it the way I want to.... however I can't.

It's so old now I am almost tempted to put it back on Y-plates and sell the private plate....

What does ur plates say ?

Was it worth the price ?

SWMBO's initials followed by my initials

Yes because it was the cheapest DVLA sell them for, just as well as it has very little value to anyone else as it doesn't actually spell anything.

Don't like any of them that have to be mis-spaced to spell something, car specific ones have to be REALLY good to be worth anything, random letters and numbers followed by VRS are not worth anything IMO.(Shifty's? WHO5 VRS was quite good mind, not sure if it has any real value tho')

Yes.

I do like 'company' plates (several cars in the same company that spell something or are at least consecutive)

Badge plates!

WHY?

Dont get em.

Private plates. OK. Not got em. But I get em.

But badge plates? Just get a big font badge, or 10 of em.

We are a bit funny like that, quite a lot of the cars have Fox on the reg numbers.

Except the Fabia VRS because it's trying to be discrete...

Would also be a shame to hide your 09 plate Mk1 on a private plate. If you want it to stand out then I'd say the fact it's probably the last Mk1 registered in the country does the job much more to enthusiasts than a private plate would.

Mine is cool in Spanish and has our initials, pure coincidence though it came with the car(used) FR10 ??? Cost nothing.

Some plates I'd love to own.

PAR xxx

or xxx PAR

I'd love those, my initials being PAR. However all of the Golf players out there keep these prices very high.

I do have a private plate for my car, which I'll be putting on when it's a year old. It was also on my old Octy:

Lnn VRS

Nothing special, does hide the age of the car of course. Was bought direct from DVLA for around £250 I think.

Mine says D7 GUM

500 quid which I fort was pretty good value

From dvla

Mine says nothing! But looks like my profile name on here. Which of course came AFTER I bought the plate. :giggle: Which incidently comes from the cheapest price band directly from the DVLA. The nine has to do with my birthday and the J is of course the first letter of my name.

Iv got a private plate in the process of going onto mine 7177 UG, i dont have a clue what it stands for but its my late father plate that he had on his car and has his business written on the bottom, putting it on mine in memory.

How ever when i bought my vRS i had a quick look on DVLA for some plates and i can get E3 VRS and that was up for £400 and id quite happily buy that as i have no intention on getting rid of my car but its still kinda specific to that car so i would have to buy another vRS

We have a few here MK** BUS is my fav.

My plate cost £300 about 8 years ago now. I really wanted it at the time, and luckily got it as an 18th birthday present!

It reads B6 SRK (86' was the year I was born, then my initials - works quite well I think!)

Mine is W4 PLD which has been a nickname i've used for a long time, only £300ish from the DVLA in 2008

Guilty as charged...

I was bought mine as a 50th birthday present so it starts *50 and it has my initials at the end.

Apparently it cost £250 from DVLA

mine is R88 XXX (My Christian name is Robin) then the first 3 letters of my surname.

cost me £280 from DVLA a few years back. SWIMBO's spells her 5 letter Christian name but with a 5 in the middle instead of an "a". Also from DVLA - £420 I IIRC

I bought W5 GON a few years back. It means nothing to me at all though :wonder:

I saw it advertised and offered a low figure which he accepted. It's currently on retention as I can't decide if I'm keeping my current car or not.

I got p11atx for a set of recaro seats that i took out of a golf i had when setup right with a black bolt it reads PHAT X
