.How ever when i bought my vRS i had a quick look on DVLA for some plates and i can get E3 VRS and that was up for £400 and id quite happily buy that as i have no intention on getting rid of my car but its still kinda specific to that car so i would have to buy another vRS

I don't feel so bad now if I pay 400 for this one

If your going to buy it then make sure you have a word with your insurer about keeping it if you write the car off.

If you write the car off, the plate is on the car and the car is their write off so they will then own it (dont quote me exactly on that but its something along them lines) and in order to get your plate back you have to fill out numerous form and iv heard people of even having to buy their own plate back off the insurers

Is the FHM part of the standard issue plate?

All my cars have had crap number plates (i like to name them if it spells something out) iv had GFT, HTJ, LUA, AHK and BZS...can make nothing out of them!

If the dealer is amiable you can usually choose the last 3 letters on a new car plate as the dealer normally have a block of numbers assigned to them for new registrations (well you could when we bought the vRS)

The best choice of the bunch was YVL which kinda sounds like evil ;)

yes its what came with the car!!

P600 NJB the last 3 digits are my initials. The plate was a joke present from my other half after i took the p*ss out of her for buying a personal plate. The joke is on going as it cost me £80 every time i change the car to keep it.

Mine is S8KDA and was bought for me as a present from my wife, think it looks pretty cool and was only £250 all in from dvla :)

My p.plate says T16 NJP which is personal to me, I didn;t buy it but I got a quote for it which came out around £400 so yeah I'd pay that.

Thats quite good took me a double take at it

Badge plates!

WHY?

Dont get em.

Private plates. OK. Not got em. But I get em.

But badge plates? Just get a big font badge, or 10 of em.

Hear hear - spot on.

Cannot see the point of 'VRS' plates - people that are interested will know it's a vRS anyway - it'll pass everyone else by. However, each to their own and all that...

The worst offenders are taxi drivers who spunk money away on a plate that tries to spell out 'TAXI'. I know it's a taxi by the bloody big sign on top - even worse if it's a Hackney.

Mine gets a fair amount of interest as it goes....

 Ah, but that's a class above.

As a major Who fan (not Dr.) into the bargain I'd stick that on my car any day!

My old vrs had VR55 OCT. Was £255 from dvla. How I miss that car :-(

V40 ART initials , cost £500 8 years ago,,DVLA, have been offered £1500 for it, not going to sell ever.Mates vRS made good sense,(samuir1974) on retention now
