Ilmor's - Black Magic Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Hi all, have had my Fabia for a while as so I thought I would post some pics and specs ;) Its nothing too major, just tidying and small mods at the moment. (Due to the insurance premiums of being 19 year old male )

When I purchased the car in September it was completely standard. 2006, Magic Black, Xenons.

So the small list of mods so far:

- DIY vinyl wrapped front grill

- PatsyBoy badges

- Stubby ariel

- Sony CDX-GT650OUI Head unit

- Vibe 10" Sub

- Heko wind deflectors

- Clear indicator repeaters

- Briskoda.net stickers

To do list of mods:

- Regal Auto sport tow loop (ordered)

- LCR front splitter

- Unit 18 remap

- Mintex pads all round

- Grooved and Drilled front and rear disks

Now for a few pics ;)

Lower it !!!

I want to, but my drive (in pics) is on a steep downward slope, meaning that when it joins the pavment (sloping the other way) the car will catch on the ground :( it only just clears it as it is at the moment.

Having said that it is still really tempting... ;)

Sort your drive out then!!

Yeah dig the drive up! lol or park on the road.

How much is your insurance? Just out of interest as I am 19 too with a Fabia rs

Lovely car! How about the rear wiper to the smaller aero style one! The OEM ones are huge :(

My insurance as myself as the main driver, with both my parents as named driver is £1800 a year. I have held my licence for two years, but have no no claims bonus as I was only a named driver on my parents before getting my vRS. :) That was with elephant.co.uk.

EDIT: Ohh and i haven't had a crash or collected any of Her Majesty's points ;)

That looks really good. The grille surround looks like a professional job ^_^

It looks goof from far away, but the closer you get the worse it becomes  but im happy with it :) cost me £7 to do i think... Cant complian for that money.

£470 is a great price, although if your conscious of budget go with AP coilovers. They're £400.

I've got a set on mine and couldn't recommend them more.

I recently fitted Weitec GT's to my Fabia I think they are same as AP?! anyway they are really good and if anything in my opinion improve the ride quality, yes its firmer but in a positive way. It’s really hard to describe but it’s alot better than the standard set up.

Not really a fair comparison but my friends Corsa VXR's suspension is far "crashier" and his is standard. The Weitec’s feel far better quality and reduce bounce brilliantly.

Completely agree. I've experienced a handful of different coilovers kits and APs are definitely up there.

The ride quality isnt to much of a concern, more of the fact that i can't park the car on my drive. :S also how much would fitting cost? Or can i do it myself?

Depends on your skill set. If you take it to a place that know what they're doing, you'd probably be looking at £100 plus tracking alignment.

Ahhh ok :) ill look into doing it myself i think, nothing like learning something new, cant beat the satisfaction of doing something yourself. :)

There's a guide on fabia-vRS.com, check it out

Ok so i recieved my Tow loop and adapter from Regal Auto sport today.

IMG_0241.jpg

However on trying to fit the adapter into the car I found that it won't fit! (I rememebr another Briskodian haveing the same problem when they oredered theirs!) So I decided to compare my standard tow hook and the tow loop adapter side by side. The tow loop adapter's threads were further apart and wider than the tow hook that came with the car. (see pictures below:)

The gold is the standard tow hook and the black is the tow hook adapter.

I have sent an email to Regal Auto sport telling them the problem and have attached the pictures. I now wait on a response...
