Anyone here with greenlight insurance on their vrs ?

Featured Replies

Ive just been on the phone to them for a quote but they say they don't cover the VRS ? WTF ???

Just wondered if anyone is with them ?

Yep, they don't cover Fabia or Octavia for whatever reason:

Excluded vehicles

  • BMW E36 models - (E30/E46 derivatives are still acceptable)
  • Citroen Saxo models
  • Ford Sierra RS500 model
  • Honda S2000, Integra DC2 & DC5 imports (UK DC2's are acceptable)
  • Lotus Elise/Exige
  • Nissan 200SX/Silvia models (All)
  • Porsche (except Boxster)
  • Renault Clio 172 “Cup” (non-ABS) model - (All other 172 derivatives are acceptable)
  • Skoda Fabia/Octavia models
  • TVR (all models)
  • Vauxhall VX220 Turbo
  • LHD vehicles (except Golf Rallye and Lancia Delta)

Every insurance company will have different policys.

Are you under 25? It might be just that they wont cover someone under 25 with that car.

I was insured with them on my previous car and had to change insurers when I got my Octi vRS. The stupid thing is its still the same underwriter (marker study) for my new policy its a joke.

Ahh didn't read what cars they cover, just googled their number.

Sky has given me a good quote anyone recommend others except flux and brentacre ?

direct line and privilege cheapest for me (24)

All my families cars are with Elephant.co.uk as they seem to be chepest for our cars. My Fabia vRS (Im 19), Mum's 2.0 GT TDI Golf and Dad's Peugeot 107.

Ilmor

insurance on my mk4 Ibiza TDI is through Greenlight...random :giggle:

They'll insure other cars with the same engine, and more powerful (no problems insuring my PD150 Leon). But they wouldn't even let me finish the last 6 weeks of my policy when I bought my vRS, missed out on virtually a whole years NCB due to not doing my research properly before I bought the car...

Should have just kept paying your premium mate and have another policy along side it.

Hastings are good, 300GBP for me

Could have done, but needed the NCB off my Greenlight policy to make the Brentacre one affordable, otherwise I'd have been even more out of pocket with having to pay up for a Brentacre power-capped policy with 0NCB.

Probably would have been ways around it, but I already wanted the car and had agreed to buy it and it was already enough hassle timing everything around having two cars temporarily, so I just bit the bullet :)

Greenlight won't insure vRS's full stop! Was just Fabias, then they went all vRS's :(

Too many "high value claims" apparently. Silly Fabia drivers rolling them while taking Porsche's "like a king" to be honest...

Sky beat my Flux quote by 20%...and Flux (my previous insurers) couldn't be bothered to try and match it let alone beat it

Yes there premiums are good but its a different story when making a claim and getting paid out for a no fault accident mine took 5 months for a simple no fault claim someone rear shunted me while stopped at a roundabout waiting to exit .They will want to fob you off to a third party to handle your claim, and give you car hire to make as much money from the claim as possible.Just do a net search Hasting Insurance problems would never use Hastings again all insurance is only as good as when you make a claim..

I doubt flux will be able to beat the quote I've had from sky,

Just over £400 fully comp with all mods declared, protected NCB and £250 excess.

Pretty good price I thought
