wheel sizes

Featured Replies

I have seen some alloys I want for my mk1 vrs, just want some opinions and fitment answers.

Am i right in thinking the standard alloy is 205/45/r16 with 5x100pcds.

If so will 215/40/r17 with 5x100pcds fit perfectly.

They are eta beta eb51 that i want. If anyone bothered to google would love some opinions.

Thanks

I think I'd go for 205/40/17 myself, but there are lots of folk on here running 215/40/17

And here's a picture of the wheel seeing as you were too klazy to post one, or even a link :giggle: . I like it

You'll need really low profile tyres, but never mind that..... it will look ****.

It all comes down to many factors, what height your running your car at, tyre size, alloy width. I'm on Jom coil overs with a tasty drop running 16 x 8j alloys et25 with 195 45 16 and they can rub at points, 17's seem to fit ok and 18"s seem to be extreme however it takes a nutter to start a trend :p but yeah the bigger the wheel the lower the profile you will need, stretching the tyre will help too and also stiffen the ride at the same time

17" i wouldnt go higher than a 205 tyre. Also need to watch the offset of the wheel too.

215 is perfect for a 17" wheel. No stretch so fits nicely with sidewall protection. 205 looks a little stretched on an 8" wide wheel, not bad on a 7.5J wheel, and fine on a 7J wheel.
