What make of tyres on new Superb?

Featured Replies

Just wondering what make of tyres I'm likely to get on my new Superb? I've seen Continental Sport Contacts mentioned a few times on the forum, but a search didn't throw up any clear answers

I got continentals on mine

Of all the Superb Elegance's I have seen have all had Continental Sport Contact 2's

Not the best tyre in the world.

I have the Conti SC3's on the front, a big improvement in grip and quiteness

Continental Premium Contact 2s on my Combi Greenline (Ambition trim so 16" wheels)

Continental Sport Contact 2s originally on mine. Fronts only did 17,500 kms. Rears will maybe make it to only around 32,000 kms. Not impressed.

Had wheel alignment by specialist when the fronts became illegal. Now Maxxi MA-V1s on the front and 34 psi as recommended by the specialist. After 8,000 kms wear seems better. No noticeable change in noise or ride comfort. Dunno about grip as I mostly go in a straight line at 100 kmph (maybe I'll take it to Sandown next time I take the MX5 and find out just how a luxobarge handles). Steering response is improved but that may be due to the higher pressures rather than the change of tyre, especially as Maxxis are not premium priced.

Had Continentals on mine when delivered just on 17k on fronts and rears about 25k replaced with Bridgestones and wear rate is look very good on the Bridgestones

Seems Conti would be standard - got mine in Nov last year with Pirelli P7s all round.

+1, the CS3's made a marked difference in interior noise levels, but I understand that mileage from these tyres won't be so good.
