Octavia vRS 17" Spiders

Featured Replies

I've just acquired a freshly refurbed set of these and I'm wondering how low I need the suspension to make them look 'good'?

I have the checked the Fabia 1 Alloys Archive, but most of the pictures in there don't work anymore.

So, does anyone have these alloys with standard or a 25mm or so suspension drop? Can you post pictures please? Please do mention what suspension you are/were running.

From what I gather I could lower by more than 25mm with just springs, but the ride would be poor.

For the record I cannot go 'really' low becuase of our drive.

Thanks in anticipation.

Joe

KW v3 adjusted up to try and keep it looking as standard as possible.

I think it's only about 10-15mm lower than standard.

This is what they looked like when I had them on with standard ride height.

Post some pics when they are on.

It was called ghost chrome over black. As I understand the whole wheel was sprayed black and then the front face was sprayed in chrome.

Slam it :)

iirc mine was 60-70mm lowered and was still nice to drive :)

AP coilovers.

Same - I'm on spiders and have FK streets (cheapo!) and have it slammed :-) ace to drive ... Just doesn't like really BIG bumps and holes

I still think the standard 16" vrs alloy looks best. In some shots the 17" seems to overpower the car, way to much wheel for such a stubby nose!

Plus the ride is better on 16". Haha. ;)

Well... it had spiders on it. :giggle:

I thought I was being helpful.

I did think about posting this again, but thought it was overkill just for the wheels. :p

Always good to share a photo or four!!! :p Looks bloody good!

I've got some spideys for my MK2 to go on soon :)

BossFox - looks a lot lower than standard! Good though :)

Mine, standard springs and shocks, did lower it but ride was awful.
