Octavia VRS Replacement.

Featured Replies

My mates got a lovely problem. I will send him a link to this thread so he can keep track

He needs to replace his MK2 Octavia VRS Estate for another diesel estate.

Budget is £25k

Of course the obvious choice would be a new vrs or scout but he fancies a change :)

What would you suugest?

His feedback so far is.....

For consideration:

Audi Allroad

Ford Mondeo

BMW - Not sure which model he was thinking of?

Test Driven:

Volvo V60 D5 - Too small for an estate and expensive but nice and comfortable

Superb 4x4 - Very nice car but not very inspiring

Passatt - Very nice car but not very inspiring

Mercedes C Class Sport 170bhp & 139bhp

Any other suggestions are welcome B)

I think I've mentioned this car about 4 times today already.

I like the A6 Avant and the V6 diesels are lovely. What about an A6 avant quattro 3.0?

Very big though.

Volvo XC60 - maybe out of budget.

Proper offroader like a Landcruiser?

Used RS4 (ok not diesel)?

A used RS4 would be my choice too but I dont think thats has even the smallest chance of being considered :giggle:

I would agree with the A6 but would also suggest the quattro version. A much more solid and planted drive.

The A6 is a glorious car (i love mine), probably the best car i've ever owned, but i still can't drive past a 5 series without thinking maybe i made the wrong decision.

The 5 is soo much better to drive, and a much nicer engine. Just a pity the reliability issues of the 2.0d put me off.
