Never a dull Moment, Boooooost then none?

Featured Replies

Good Evening :hi:

Getting the Vrs serviced on Thursday, and today I appeared to lose boost twice just felt like normal 1.8I. Pulled over switched car off and then on again and we had Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooost loads of it off we went.

Rang guy from Garage who thinks it could be related to MAF? Part of the service is reading the reading thing that without reading you wouldn't know you had a problem . So without me reading through millions of posts that contain the word MAF does this sound right? £75.00 for the MAF he said.

Cheers Guys..

The easy way to tell if it's your MAF would be to unplug it and see how it drives.

If it drives better unplugged then its your MAF.

Sounds like either MAF or coilpack to me

and £75 for a MAF sounds about right

You should really scan for faults and then try to solve a problem, not like this..

Boost is controlled by the N75 valve. If it fluctuates this is what is foooked.

Thanks the coil packs where replaced in October I believe from previous owner and I have receipt from Skoda to prove, so should rule that out. I will try unplugging it tomorrow and see and if not I suppose I will find out on Thursday, I also just wanted to check in case Garage trying to stick it to me. Well I suppose its a good sign that the price he mentioned was about right, so that`s a bonus. Just more money out of the Mod pot though.

+1.

Simpliest way id get car errors logged by VAGCOM or other OB2 reader.

I would also recomend you purchase a handheld reader as will save you lots in the mid to long term. I paid less than £20.
