Aligning the main beam

Featured Replies

My dip beam is fine but on high been its aiming on the floor, the 2 adjusters on the which you can adjust with a allen key.... is one for dip and one for main or do they just move the whole head light?

Pretty sure the adjusters adjust the whole headlamp unit. Sounds like your full beam bulb isn't seated properly.

the two allen key adjusters are one for up and down and the second is left to right, as was mentioned probably bulb incorrectly fitted.

Are you sure that the bulb is seating correctly, I had a similar problem which turned out to be the bulb sitting incorrectly.

Hello,

I have a similar problem (on a '03 fabia estate), low beam is ok, but high beam seems to shine too high (the beam seems to go about 5m above the ground, on the trees etc.). Adjusting the angle with a turning wheel inside the car doesn't help very much. I'm a total novice to cars so can't imagine what "a proper seating should look like". Is it a position of the bulb relative to the reflector unit, etc? I can't find anything wrong with the bulb seating when I have a look from any side.

The bulb is properly seated when the prongs on the bulb sit properly within the gaps in the headlight unit.

check the dip beam bulb is seated correct, as the healight may have been adjusted for the incorrect fitted bulb

did you find the problem?
