03 Octavia water in drivers footwell

Featured Replies

hi guys new to this site need some help..ive a persistent water leak into drivers footwell..ive tried door seal and seems ok..this is driving me mad..it seems to have a worn away the underlay of the carpet right in the centre..any help much appreciated..thxs

Remove the scuttle panel where the wipers are and check/clear any old leaves/crap and ensure any debris is cleared. Check any grommets too.

Ive also heard sometimes water can travel along the bonnet release cable if the car is parked on a hill.

Has the car had any aftermarket front speakers fitted? Any holes in the door membrane can cause issues (this is the plastic sheet behind the doorcard)

alright lad thxs for taking the time to reply. I did that this morning..there was quiet a bit of crap there which i removed..i tested with the hose and the water was rushing into the cabin..the grommet around bonnet release cable seemed solid enough but i sealed with silicone anyway..the grommet for the wiring seemed high enough away from water level to be ok however the base of it didnt seem so good..large rectangular unit quiet close to the bonnet release..so i sealed that also..time will tell..im looking for a set of vrs alloys if anybody knows where i can get them s/hand with decent tyres..thxs

For the alloys post a ad in the wanted section. Think there were some in the for sale section too
