Another Xenon Question

Featured Replies

I know people will say ilegal etc, etc but does anyone have any output shots of xenons in the newest skoda fabia with projector halogen lights?

Would appreciate pics of the beam on a nice wall, etc to show how much glare these hella bi-halogen projectors give off as I am looking at buying a fabia soon and see a vrs today with 4300k oem look colour temp and the beam pattern looked to have a decent sharp cutoff?

I've the projector curve light and Oem light where awful and the level out of factory was way of I've put Philips extreme vision 100% in mine much better now , I can see

Check this thread - My link

Shows the fitting through to beam pattern.

NOTE - The beam I've shown is for the Philips H7 canbus genuine HID kit.

My Sister followed me driving my car and they are absolutely stunning. Even up & down hills, they don't dazzle any more than halogens. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Thanks for that reply was what I was looking for and the glare above the cutoff looks to be more than oem/high range retro xenon projectors and its obviously not a straight cutoff but better than most halogen projectors I have seen and I would feel confident its not enough to cause any dangers to oncoming cars. I will probably get some 4300k/5000k xenons shipped from the retrofit source as these are great quality or some philips ones.

I'm sure there is some new MOT rules that state without self levelling and washers they will fail the MOT...

someone will correct me if I'm wrong...

(mind you, you have 2-3 years before that should bother you! lol..)

You're right. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an evil little law breaker, but when the countless number of motorists who have -

1 headlamp

Completely misaligned dipped beams

Fog lights (sorry, sporty spot lamps) emoticon-0105-wink.gif

NO light output on the road from ancient bulbs

When these issues are sorted out by the MOT testers, then maybe the 'issue' of aftermarket HIDs will be sorted out correctly.

Mine are aligned correctly, do not cause any dazzle whatsoever (I've driven in very busy traffic for a while now) but in reality, the issues concerning aftermarket HIDs are for the use of them with a halogen reflector that does not focus the light, but just scatters it everywhere. Yes, they pee me off too ! Just because you can buy these aftermarket kits for as low as £30 nowdays, the kids have fitted them to anything, in effect, ruining the chances of the law allowing the fitment of HIDs with projectors.

I've had 2 cars (Mk1 VRS as well) with factory HID. Anyone who says that factory HIDs are always levelled and not in the position to potentially dazzle an oncoming motorist, then they've not been behind (or in front) of a HID fitted car.

I was even 'flashed' when with my previous HID factory fitted cars.

A car with halogen reflectors retro fitted with HID dazzles oncoming motorists at all times. They do NOT dazzle if in a projector and aligned as they should be.

There's a 'line in the sand' that's had to be drawn and the responsible guys have been punished by people who, quite simply, don't care.

I saw a 'S' reg Astra van the other day with probably 8000k blue HIDs. That's the real issue. emoticon-0143-smirk.gif

Has the vrs just have 1 projector? I've a projector and reflector, what could I do ? I'd love hids and you could hide them in the projector

You could have the dipped beam (projector) as HID and leave the main beam as halogen, but of course this doesn't alter the law technically speaking.

I'm not going to condone it, but I've had my say on the matter.
