new average MPG record for me :)

Featured Replies

My records 43mpg from hull to linlithgow and average about 23mph daily.......think my drivings rather ehmm flamboyant? Everyone seems to get way more than me : (

Stu the Mk2 VRS doesn't seam to like the climate up hear it apears to be a bit damp for it though they apear to got a little faster due to the damp air aswell so its swings and roundabouts.

Yeh the handling gets rather scary on the damp dusty leafy roads up here, and i agree with the bit extra power iv whooped a few things i shouldnt have....well in a straight line anyway :giggle:

I'm meant to have slippers???.... :giggle:

They are much better for grip when propelling the car through the hole in the floor Fred-Flintstone-style.

The slippers are necessary, for when smugly warming ones tootsies while supping on the fine wine you bought with the money saved by infrequent visits to the chancellors petrol stations.

Was it downhill, Dave? ;)

This is my best into work. 39 miles. Slower car though. ;)

Christ...my green line is averaging 60 according to my road trio App....the best journey Ive had so far is 73mpg...although mine only has 3300 miles on it...given that its only 3 weeks old I hope it will get better in the next few months.

The only Savior is that Diesel is only costing me £1.28 per litre...and I get mileage through work.

That's VERY low milage for a 2006 VRS ! emoticon-0105-wink.gif

It will and does get a lot better, mine nearing 4k miles now and does feel looser and more economical. However with it being winter you'll never know until summer time.

does feel looser

Nice MPG Sharky.

Reckon they're about £100 adrift on the springs total fitted price. Ring round for a few more prices. I'd say you'd be better ordering the springs (Awesome, DPM, Larkspeed someone like that) then getting a local place to fit. Should be no more than 2hrs labour.

Surley all this going for super economy is bad for your engine? Blocking DPF's ,carbon build up in turbo's ect and whatever clogs up in petrol engines.

I've had my Tdi 130 (205bhp) down to 17mpg around the ring but up to 69mpg on the way home.

I'd only see an issue if you were driving the Mk2 vRS in that manner all the time.

Yes that's true!

One thing i always notice in my Tdi is that after a good session at a trackday the engine seems sweeter, as if it's blown the cobwebs out of it's system. Always get better mpg on the way home too.
