Alarm Fault

Featured Replies

Hello everyone

This is my first time in the forum. So please impress me and solve my problem. I have a 2005 octavia 2ltr D.S.G. My alarm went today for no reason. The L.E.D on the door flashes twice and then remains on for 30 seconds then flashes. The handbook says fault on central locking or interior sensor. All Electric tell me the computer shows no faults at all. But there is becuase the L.E.D is stopping on before flashing and this has only just started happening. Please help THANK YOU

Not an easy first question, Rachel. :( Will a 'Welcome to Briskoda' do for the meantime? :D

I know nothing about these things but does anyone know where the interior sensor is? I wonder if there is excess on the moulding that surrounds it that might be returning a false positive to the sensor.

Alternatively I'd lower all the windows and put them up again in case any have slipped down slightly.

Good luck with getting it sorted.

Have you had work done to the car lately, it maybe related.

Hi and welcome.

Have you checked that none of the interior lights are on? Maybe in the boot were you can't see.....this cause alarms to go off.

Perhaps you'd like to do a review of All Electric in our review sections....would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rachel,

I've noticed recently exactly the same problem with my 2005 2.0L Octavia, and I was expecting to find here someone with the same problem. I've phoned Skoda dealer here in Portugal and they do not know the problem. They have told me to go there to try to fix the issue.

In my opinion this can be a fault with the ultra sonic device that monitors the car's interior that is not working properly.

If you find out the solution for this problem please post here.

Thks,

Nuno

Welcome to Briskoda

Hope you get the fault sorted.

Is this the one in Halesowen?

If so , hello from a relatively local person

Haven't had a look in a VAG car at the alarm situation for a while, but last time i did, I noticed a big illuminated button down the bottom of the drivers side B pillar.......

If you push it, it disables the interior sensors.......

Might be worth a try, at least as a way to perhaps isolate one possible culprit.

My VW Passat developed an alarm fault, whchc went on for days at a time. Found the button, which stopped it, and ended up having the interior sensors replaced/re-wired.

Been fine since.

Never did find out why they just went like that though.

Probably no help at all.... :o

But "Hello" anyway :)

Good point made by the man above. :)

welcome to briskoda, hope you get it sorted :)

Thanks to all for the welcome. :)

Gwilo,

I also know that button, but it disables the interior sensor only for once. It is supposed to activate again the interior sensor if you don't push it again. Anyway, when I push the button and lock the doors the LED flashes normally, which in my opinion means that the fault might be really caused by the sensor.

Cheers,

Nuno

I have a different alarm problem. Left kids locked in car numerous times while popping into shops. Alarm never goes off. Had car serviced last week and they reported fault with interior 'sonic system'. New parts to be fitted this week.

I know this may be a silly idea but we have loads of spiders around at the moment , could it be one on the sensor????
